PURPOSE:To send out character information that a user previously sets by providing a control part which automatically answers a call when the call arrives while an automatic answering mode is selected. CONSTITUTION:A line interface part 7 analyzes a set message from an ISDN and informs an automatic answer control part 12 of termination once confirming that the originating terminal is a television telephone set. The control part 12 requests a connection with the opposite party, instructs a data conversion part 13 to convert character information in a character information storage part 11 from character codes to video data at the time of the completion of the connection, and also instructs a changeover switch 14 to supply the video data to a CODIC part 4. The conversion part 13 reads the character codes out of the storage part 11 in order and converts them into the video data. The converted character information after being compressed and encoded by the CODIC part 4 is sent to the ISDN through a multiplexing demultiplexing part 6 and an interface part 7. |
