PURPOSE:To reduce the occurrence of floating toner and to extend intervals of cleaning a toner-recovering filter and replacing it. CONSTITUTION:The device is equipped with: a development housing 7 disposed to be opposited to an image carrier 1; a developing sleeve 11 provided in the development housing 7; an air supply duct 15 provided upstream from a development nip N in the direction of the rotation of the image carrier 1; and a suction duct 17 provided downstream from the development nip N; and the toner- recovering filter 18 connected to suction duct 17.
