<p>PURPOSE:To protect an optical coupler against malfunction caused by disturbance light by a method wherein a light transmitting material is made to serve as an optical path, and a light emitting element and a photodetector are sealed up with optical shielding resin excluding their front ends which confront the light transmitting material respectively. CONSTITUTION:A light emitting side conductor pattern 9 and a photodetecting side conductor pattern 10 are formed on the upside of an insulating film 1. A light emitting element 2 mount, a photodetector 3 mount, and an opening 12 near to them are provided to the insulating film 1. A light emitting element 2 and a photodetector 3 are mounted on the patterns 9 and 10 respectively. An optical path formed of light transmitting material 13 of insulating film or glass is provided adjacent to the element 2 and the photodetector 3. The light transmitting material 13, the light emitting element 2, and the photodetector 3 are sealed up with optical shielding resin 4. By this setup, an optical coupler of this constitution can be set free from the influence of disturbance light ray 5 and protected against malfunction.</p> |
