PURPOSE:To improve the operability of a monitoring device by providing the device with a function to switch an operating condition automatically using an IC card storing specific information. CONSTITUTION:An IC card 6 is stored in advance with specific information such as type of the IC card 6, type of data to be stored in the IC card 6, and data storage area, through a specific device designed to store information in the IC card 6. An information processor 2 of a monitoring device can check specific information such as type of the IC card stored in the IC card through key operation and periodically. By combining the operating conditions of the monitoring device with the operation status of the IC card, the functions of the monitoring device are automatically controlled.
