PURPOSE:To provide the timbre selecting device of the electronic musical instrument which can selects a favorite timbre among many timbres instantaneously through easier operation with a limited number of switches. CONSTITUTION:The electronic musical instrument, which has plural timbres and also has each timbre specified with characteristic timbre specification information, consists of a timbre-selection switch 16 composed of a gathering of switches less than the timbres, a rewritable storage means 20 which stores the timbre specification information corresponding to the respective switches of the timbre selection switch 16, a rewriting means 19 which rewrites the timbre specification information stored in the rewritable storage means 20, and a control means 1 which reads timbre specification information corresponding to one of the switches of the timbre selection switch 16 out of the rewritable storage means 20 with the switch operated and specifies the timbre. |
