PURPOSE:To suppress the confusion of transmission due to the switching of an input image and the disorder of an image synchronizing signal. CONSTITUTION:A switch 46 selects the output of a video camera 40 or the output of a VTR 44. A video encoder 48 separates the image signal from the switch 46 into brightness/chromaticity data and a synchronizing signal and applies them to a memory control circuit 56. The memory control circuit 56 writes the image data from the encoder 48 in a frame memory 54 when the synchronizing signal from the encoder 48 is stable and stops writing the data unless the synchronizing signal is stable. The memory control circuit 56 reads stored data out of the memory according to the synchronizing signal from a synchronizing signal generating circuit 58 and applies the data to a CIF converting circuit 60. The memory control circuit 56 interrupts and restarts the writing to the memory 54 according to commands from a CPU 74. |
