PURPOSE:To transmit facsimile data to an individual or the like who already constructs an electronic mail system with a computer or the like. CONSTITUTION:This method is provided for transmitting the facsimile data from a facsimile equipment to the specified individual belonging to the electronic mail system managed by a computer system to which a terminal equipment such as a WS is connected, indentification information (a mail number) (1) to specify the destination is inputted from the facsimile equipment, at the computer system, the indentification information (1) to specify the destination is indentified, and when distributing the facsimile data to the specified individual belonging to the electronic mail system, the indentification information (1) to specify the destination is set to the prescribed filed of an option part (2)a of control information (2) to be sent from the facsimile equipment, a previously registered telephone number (1)a is set in the telephone number setting area of the option part (2)a, or data to indentify the previously decided destination of the individual is described in the prescribed area of a paper sheet to be transmitted by facsimile with a prescribed symbol and a format.
