PURPOSE:To provide a secondary battery of high capacity excellent in cycle stability and further capable of resisting against charge/discharge of high current density. CONSTITUTION:An alkali metal storage carbon system material has a contracted ring aromatic structure to store an alkali metal in a carbon system material formed of a disordered lamination structure, and the alkali metal storage carbon system material, in which C/A atomic ratio (where represented carbon by C and alkali metal element by A) is 1 to 8 to provide at least two values of a peak of chemical shift delta of an NMR spectrum of an alkali atomic nucleus with the one peak (B) + or -2ppm and the other peak (A) provided in a plus side from this peak (B), is used in an electrode. In this alkali metal storage carbon system material, an amount of storing an alkali ion can be markedly increased, and also a structural change in the case of storage/removal can be eliminated. Alkali ion storage emitting reaction can be also increased. |
