PURPOSE:To provide a turning tool capable of preventing the settling and damage of an optical fiber in the neighborhood of a ferrule when the ferrule is turned by holding with a working robot. CONSTITUTION:This tool is the turning tool for the optical fiber equipped with a robot hand 4 which turns the ferrule 3 around a virtual axis 0' which holds the ferrule 3 at the tip of the optical fiber 2 and extending in a direction intersecting orthogonally to the longitudinal direction of the ferrule, and a turning member 5 arranged so as to come into contact with the optical fiber 2 extending on the extension of the ferrule 3 held with the robot hand 4 and to follow the turning of the ferrule 3 and which performs circular motion around the virtual axis O'.
