PURPOSE:To precisely detect an abnormal temp. so that a centralized control over a wide range can be executed by using a superconductor formed by constituting a wire rod consisting of a superconductor having the critical temp. at a prescribed temp. or near the same. CONSTITUTION:A layer of oxide ceramics having 0.03mm thickness is adhered by a sputtering method to a metallic tape having high electric resistance and 5mm width and is subjected to a heat treatment to produce the superconductor. Fluoroplastic is coated on such wire rod to form the superconductor wire. The resulted superconductor wire 1 is connected to a DC power supply 3 and current of several hundreds mA order is passed in a low temp. atmosphere. The current decreases stepwise at the critical temp. or above when a normal conducting point 5 is heated. The degrees at which the temp. at the abnormal point exceeds the critical temp. are detected by measuring the current if the temp.-current characteristic thereof is previously measured by experiment. Adjustment is, therefore, made to attain the prescribed temp. or below by emitting an alarm or operating a cooler in accordance with the result of such detection.
