PURPOSE:To eliminate the dispersion of position detecting timing by a position detecting means and the phase of a stepping motor and to always stably control the position of a lens. CONSTITUTION:This controller is provided with a motor control means 9 which discriminates whether or not the position of a focusing lens 5 just before the initial alignment is within the number of steps of the acceleration pattern of the stepping motor 3 to the positions of the position detecting means 4 and 6 in the case of the initial alignment of the focusing lens 5; and which drives the stepping motor first in a reverse direction to the direction of an initial position at least by the number of steps equal to or above the number of steps of the acceleration pattern when it is within the number of steps of the acceleration pattern, and then drives the stepping motor in the direction of the initial position. |
