PURPOSE:To provide a document editing device which eliminates the space between characters of an output character string while having the fixed-length dot font where access to character data is simple. CONSTITUTION:Characters are inputted from a keyboard 1 and are edited by an editing controller 15, and intervals of characters to be outputted are set at this time. When the dot font is read out from a dot font storage memory 17 for the purpose of outputting the edited document from an output device 14, it is discriminated whether or not a dot string arranged perpendicularly to the arrangement direction of the document is a blank part in the dot font by a dot font read controller 16 to read out only an effective dot string. Thus, the space between characters is eliminated as the output result. |
