PURPOSE:To make it possible to output an English phrase by Japanese reading. CONSTITUTION:A character information converting dictionary capable of outputting a phrase consisting of Japanese and English words as output information in accordance with reading information is retrieved based upon inputted reading information and virtual conversion candidate information consisting of an extracted phrase is prepared and stored in a conversion buffer (S1). The grammar of a word string in the same language out of the virtual conversion candidate information is checked, and when the word string has a grammartical error, the word string is erased from the buffer and grammartically correct real conversion candidate information out of the virtual conversion candidate information is prepared. The prepared information is processed in a step S2 and processing for English is executed in steps S3 to S8. Each real conversion candidate information left as proper information is arranged by notation format corresponding its language and outputted. In the case of an English sentence especially, the head character of a word constituting a subject is written by a capital and a period is added to the end of each sentence. |
