PURPOSE:To eliminate irregularities in image density by making an amount of developer with which a developing device is replenished by a developer replenishment device constant, thereby eliminating uneven distribution of the developer in the developing device. CONSTITUTION:By rotating and driving a screw 60 by means of the replenishment motor 13 of the developer replenishment device 12, the developing device 12b is replenished with the developer in the replenishment device 12. Because load on the replenishment motor 13 changes with an amount of the developer in the replenishment device 12, an amount of replenishment changes even when the time required for replenishment is fixed. Therefore, by detecting a current flowing in the replenishment motor 13 and controlling the rotation of the screw 60 based on the result of the detection, the amount of replenishment of developer per unit time is kept constant. |
