PURPOSE:To section into a fault occurrence location of a transmission system and an exchange system by directly informing an exchange maintenance operation section of a fault caused in the transmission line and the transmitter in each remote station. CONSTITUTION:When a fault takes place in a transmission block between remote stations such as a transmission line 41, a transmitter 21 detects the fault of the transmission line and reports fault information to an exchange 31 through a fault information line 51. The exchange 31 reports the fault information to an exchange maintenance operation system 310 via the transmitter 21, a transmission line 40 (transmission line maintenance operation channel), a host station transmitter 20, a fault information line 50 and a host exchange 30. The exchange maintenance operation system 310 displays the fault of the transmission line 41 between the remote stations 11 and 12 based on the noticed fault information. |
