Labeling containers having deep grooves

A method of labeling a container with heat shrinking labels, said container having an upper cylindrical portion (14), a lower cylindrical portion (15) coaxial to the upper portion and an annular groove (17) between the upper and lower portions which has a depth and a width suiting it to serve as a fingerhold. The container is wrapped with a heat shrinkable label (20) adhering to the cylindrical portions and bridging the grooves. Hot air is applied to the label where it bridges the groove to shrink it into the groove.
