PURPOSE:To obtain a flame-retardant hydraulic oil composed of a fatty acid ester and having low pour point, high flash point and excellent thermal oxidation stability, temperature-viscosity characteristics and lubricity. CONSTITUTION:This flame-retardant hydraulic oil contains a complex ester having an iodine value of <=10 (expressed by Img/100g), a flash point of >=280 deg.C and a pour point of <=-20 deg.C and synthesized from a 5-14C saturated dicarboxylic acid or its derivative, a 5-18C straight-chain monocarboxylic acid or its derivative containing 0.5-10 equivalent % of 16-18C straight-chain monocarboxylic acid component based on total carboxylic acid component, <=50 equivalent % (based on total carboxylic acid component) of 5-18C monocarboxylic acid having a branch at alpha-site or its derivative and a neopentyl polyol containing >=70 equivalent % of trimethylolpropane based on total alcohol component. |
