PURPOSE:To obtain a piezoelectric ceramic having small mechanical quality coefficient Qm and excellent heat-resistance and especially useful as a filter element having flat group delay time characteristics and small phase distortion and capable of coping with surface mounting technique. CONSTITUTION:This piezoelectric ceramic is produced by adding 0.005-0.9wt.% of Mn in terms of MnO2 to a piezoelectric ceramic having a composition of a lead titanate zirconate expressed by the general formula PbZr1-xTixO3 ((x) is 0.46-0.54) provided that 0.1-5.0mol% of the Pb atom is substituted with at least one kind of element selected from La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu and Gd, <=8.0mol% of Pb atom is substituted with at least one kind of element selected from Ca, Sr and Ba and 0.001-0.5wt.% of Si and/or Ge (in terms of SiO2 and GeO2) are added to the composition. |
