The invention relates to a speed reducer/multiplier with reversible functions. The geometric design of the device uses as functional reference the pitch circle diameter D1 of axis A1 of a annulus gear 1. The device is mounted without bearings, special roller-contact bearings 5-6 providing the rotational connections: sun gear shafts 4+2/annulus gear 1 and planet carrier 3/annulus gear 1. The planet carrier shaft 3 and sun gear shaft 4+2 brought into register using a roller-contact bearing 9 are borne by the common axis Ao. The planet carrier shaft 3 consists of several rows of parallel housings which are designed to accommodate the planet gears 16. The planet carrier shaft contains a reservoir 13, a filling passage 14 and has passages 14 for the circulation and cooling of the lubricant. The device opens the way to applications which require very high performance (precision, speed, durability) with very tight constraints (torque, reversals, shocks). <IMAGE>
