<p>Hook device 1 for the occlusion of blood vessels and/or the correction of septal defects and/or to shut off thrombi where the said device 1 incorporates two or more hook points formed of biocompatible memory or shape- memory metal alloy, where the said hook device 1 is disconnectably secured to one end of a control cable 3 surrounded by a protective sheath 4 acting as a catheter, in such a way that the said hook device 1 can be retracted within the sheath 4 of the catheter for introduction into the blood circulation in order to reach the preselected occlusion point or point for shutting off thrombi, where the hooks are expanded by heating where they perforate and pass through the wall of the blood vessel 5 and become immobilised in it and the catheter 4 can then be disconnected and removed. Hook device 1 can be explanted after it has performed its function by reconnection to the catheter and extraction. <IMAGE></p> |
