The lock unit (12) is fixed to a door frame, whilst a lock element (7) is fitted e.g. to a door. The lock unit comprises a housing (3) contg. a long lock chamber (2) inside which, and in its longitudinal direction, a lock ball (1) is movable and activated by a manoeuvring cylinder (4) between an unlocked position, in which the lock ball is freely movable, and a locked position, in which the lock component is pushed out of the lock chamber to engage the lock element so that it is held fixed to the lock unit. - The lock chamber is cylindrical, and the lock ball has the same dia. as it. The manoeuvring cylinder extends at right-angles towards and crossways over the lock chamber. The lock chamber extends, on the part contg. the lock ball, a distance from the point of intersection between the centre line of the chamber and the manoeuvring cylinder to the corresp. opening of the chamber. This opening is smaller than the dia. of the lock ball. - The cylinder is turned half a revolution at each activation of the lock by an electric motor, with the aid of a remote control unit and a switch (18,19). |
