The wheelchair includes a crossbar (5) fixed under the chair seat on which is suspended a reducing gear drive (6) coupled to a transversal transmission shaft (7) which has a progressive clutch (11). The shaft connects to the rear wheel (13B) of the chair. The crossbar (5) also supports a vertical pivoting shaft(26) which is used as a hinge of a control lever (27) which is mechanically connected to a movable arm (31) of the chair and to the front wheel steering mechanism (30a,30b). The arm (31) also carries a series of switches (32) for control of the motor drive (6). USE/ADVANTAGE - Drive enables size and weight of chair to be reduced, so that it can be folded to fit into boot of small cars. |
