PURPOSE:To improve flexibility and elasticity, impart eatability and crude decomposing properties and use for fertilization and cattle fedder after use as a buffer material, by a method wherein a foaming agent is added to starch, heated and melted by an extruder fitted with a die having a specific long hole and extruded through the extruder at a specific speed. CONSTITUTION:A foaming agent is added to starch and heated and melted at 100-200 deg.C by an extruder to which a die having a long hole is 5-50mm is fitted. Extrusion through the extruder die at a delivery speed of 100-400m/min. is performed under a swallen state. Then, a 0.01-5% foaming agent such as baking powder, 0.1-20% oils and fats and a 0.01-5% emulsifier are added to the starch. Raw materials are supplied to a barrel 2 of the extruder through a feeder 6 and transferred by a double screw 1. Hereupon, the materials are processed mechanically and at the same time, heat-treated by a heating coil and cooling jacket 4. Then pressurized and delivered through the die 3 of the tip and cut off by a cutter 8. |
