<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the subject topcoat, composed of a specific siliceous film and excellent in transparency in the region of ultraviolet rays to visible light, crack resistance, reliability of devices and erasing characteristics and useful as liquid crystal display elements, etc. CONSTITUTION:This topcoat is composed of a siliceous film containing a unit composition expressed by the formula II: RSiO1.5 in an amount of 1-20mol based on 1mol unit composition expressed by the formula I: R2SiO [R is H, (substituted)alkyl, (substituted)aryl or (substituted)alkenyl]. Furthermore, the siliceous film in the topcoat is preferably obtained by comprising a unit composition expressed by the formula III: SiO2 in an amount of <=5mol based on 1mol unit composition expressed by the formula I, in addition to the unit compositions expressed by formulas I and II.</p> |
