PURPOSE:To suppress generation of excess sound of an oscillating means and to prolong the life thereof and to clean a nozzle while printing action is performed. CONSTITUTION:A head unit 20 contg. a common ink tank and a plurality of jetting nozzles which communicate respectively with this tank and can control jetting of an ink is carried on an oscillating means and a dissolved ink is jetted from a selected jetting nozzle by obtaining a compression force compressing the dissolved ink in the common ink tank in the jetting direction by means of the oscillating means 21. On the other hand, the oscillating means 21 is oscillated in a recording region P to a recording medium 19 and the oscillation is stopped in the neighborhood of turning end where the moving direction of the head unit 20 can be changed on both end of the moving range M, namely, in the oscillation stopping region S out of the printing region P where jetting of the ink is unnecessary and in other words, the oscillating means 21 is oscillated only when it is necessary and the oscillation is stopped except the case to suppress the sound of oscillation and to prolong the life and furthermore, out of the printing region P, cleaning work can be performed even when printing is on the way. |
