<p>PURPOSE:To realize the variable control of the valve lift characteristic suitable for the operational condition, avoid the complicate constitution when applied to the multiple valve type engine such as the intake two-valve type engine, and enable the variable control or the like of the intake swirl. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical cam shaft 22 is arranged on the outer circumference of a driving shaft 21 which is synchronously rotated with the engine, and an annular disk 29 is arranged between a flange part 27 of the cam shaft 22 and a flange part 32 of a sleeve 28 connected to the driving shaft 21. The cam shaft 22 is divided for each cylinder, and provided with cams 26A, 26B corresponding to a pair of intake valves. The cams 26A, 26B have different lift characteristics. The annular disk 29 is held by a swayable control ring 35, and a pair of pins 36, 37 engaged with engaging grooves 30, 33 of the flange parts 27, 32 are mounted in a rotatable manner. The sway position of the annular disk 29 is controlled based on the operational conditions of the engine.</p> |
