<p>PURPOSE:To positively detect the detection abnormality of steering torque caused by superimposed noise so as to positively prevent the execution of inappropriate power assist. CONSTITUTION:A motor-driven power steering is provided with a motor M1 for generating steering assist force, and a control device M3 for controlling the motor according to the steering torque detected by a steering torque detecting device M2. A change direction comparing device M5 compares the change direction of steering angles detected by a steering angle detecting device M4 with the change direction of the steering torque detected by the steering torque detecting device M2, and when the change direction of the steering angles is reverse to the change direction of steering torque, the detection of steering torque detected by the steering torque detecting device M2 is judged to be abnormal by an abnormality judging device M6.</p> |
