The invention provides an aerosol device for the dispensing of a pressurized liquid as an aerosol without the use of a predosed propellant, comprising a liquid storage container (224), a valve assembly (229) with spray button, a fluid feed for supplying the liquid from the container (224) to the valve (229), and a pump assembly (201) capable of introducing atmospheric air into the container (224). The pump (201) assembly has a pressure chamber (202) defined by a wall and having generally open and closed ends, means for attaching the pump (201) assembly to the container (224), a piston (209) and one or more one way valves (207), with the valves (207) located at the generally closed end of the pressure chamber (202) and comprising one or more holes (205) releasably sealed on the outside of the chamber (202) by one or more elastically deformable members (207). The central axis of the valve (229) of the aerosol device is not coaxial with the longitudinal axis of the pump assembly (201).
