Method for controlling the fuel feed in a mixture-compressing internal combustion engine

A method for controlling the fuel feed in a mixture-compressing, multi-cylinder internal combustion engine is described, the exhaust gas of which is cleaned by means of a catalytic converter device arranged in the exhaust line. It is proposed to interrupt the fuel feed to at least one cylinder as necessary as a function of the exhaust gas temperature. In order to be able to ensure optimum protection against excessive temperatures in the full load range with, at the same time, a minimum fuel consumption without adversely affecting the efficiency of the catalytic converter in the partial load range, it is proposed to use an exhaust gas temperature (synthetic exhaust gas temperature) to be expected as a function of operating parameters of the internal combustion engine as measured variable for the exhaust gas temperature.
