PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized optical demultiplexer/multiplexer by using one composite prism which is formed by fixing a planar prism which has translucent films on both surfaces between slanting surfaces of two right-angled prisms in an isosceles triangle shape. CONSTITUTION:The planar prism 32 which has the translucent films 30 and 31 formed on both surfaces is sandwiched and adhered between the slanting surfaces of the two right-angled prisms 28 and 29 in the isosceles triangle shape. Couples rod lenses 37-40 to which optical fibers are adhered respectively are fixed to the base surfaces of the two right-angled prisms 28 and 29 and those four rod lenses 37-40 are arranged having their optical axes aligned with one another. Consequently, one composite prism consists of the two right-angled prisms and planar prism which are fixed across the translucent films. Consequently, the optical demultiplexer/multiplexer is formed which consists of a small number of components and has small insertion loss. |
