Liquid purification apparatus for treating liquids containing organic substances, in particular for cleaning up wastewaters (effluents), having a vessel (1) having a working volume for holding the liquid, a liquid inlet nozzle (3) which is connected to the vessel (1) and opens out into the working volume, a gas inlet nozzle (4), a gas injection unit connected via a gas line to the gas inlet nozzle (4) and an outlet nozzle (6) leading out from the working volume. The vessel is a closed shell in the form of a rotational body surface, expediently a circular cylindrical shell. The axis of rotation (1a) of the vessel (1) deviates from the vertical which advantageously makes a right angle with this. At least one spiral baffle internal (2) should be situated on the internal surface (1b) of the vessel (1) (Fig. 1).
