PURPOSE:To provide a recording apparatus wherein accuracy of assembly is improved and a stable contact pressure between a cable and an exchanging member such as a recording head is guaranteed. CONSTITUTION:A contact part 7b formed on a terminal part of a flexible cable 7 is provided on a contact part 5a of a carriage 5 and a rubber pad 10 with a projection corresponding to the contact part 7b is provided between the contact part 5a and the flexible cable 7. This rubber pad 10 has an outer shape wherein the projection is hollow and a curved face being convex downward from the round part of the apex of the projection toward a supporting part supporting the projection is formed and when a recording head is mounted on an apparatus main body, the projection presses the contact part 7b of the corresponding flexible cable 7 to perform an electrical connection with the recording head.
