<p>A window is produced by renovation of an existing wooden window comprising a fixed window frame (11) and at least one hinged or demountable sash (17) supporting a thereon glazed glass pane (18) and having such a size, that it with free fit fits into a rabbet (52, 54) in the window frame (11). A self-supporting, hinged or demountable inner pane (40) is so fitted to the sash (17) and is ofsuch a size, that it along its entire circumference abuts on the rabbet bottom (54) when the window is closed. Window frame thickening lists (51) are mounted onto the outward surfaces (14) of the window frame (11) being parallel to the window plane at least around the sash (17), and the position of the sash (17) in its closed position is adjusted to window frame (11, 51) modified in this way. A new, plane rabbet bottom (54) and good weather seal can be provided for by means of an angle shaped abut list (53) and a weather strip (38). By means of the invention it is possible to keep the inwards and the outwards appearence of the original window when renovated, and simultaneously provide a new outward facing window frame surface. The renovation according to the invention is cost efficient, and no irreversible cutting away of original wood is required.</p> |
