In a transmission support, in addition to the engine mounting, a support is provided for the transmission (4) by lateral, obliquely fitted rubber-metal bearings (20), which are inclined at an angle ( beta ) to the horizontal, the lines of action (10) of the bearings (20) in the direction of a pure compressive loading intersecting in the axis of rotation (11) of the transmission (4). By simple means, the transmission is therefore sufficiently guided both laterally and vertically on the one hand, whilst on the other hand nevertheless also creating a very soft spring characteristic for supporting the torque (M) of the transmission. <IMAGE>
