<p>A process for producing an aromatic polycarbonate by polymerizing a molten mixture of an aromatic dihydroxy compound with a diaryl carbonate or an intermediate of polymerization of an aromatic dihydroxy compound with a diaryl carbonate in a molten state by permitting the feed to fall freely. This process enables a coloration-free high-quality polycarbonate to be produced stably for long at a high polymerization rate in an apparatus which can be well sealed in a high vacuum and is easy to maintain.</p> |
