The invention concerns a device for the manual operation of a brake pedal (1) in a motor vehicle with a handle (2) and an operative connection between the handle (2) and the brake pedal (1), the brake pedal (1) being articulated on the vehicle chassis or on the splash wall and capable of swivelling about an axis (3) and, in order to accomplish an easy conversion of the motor vehicle from manual operation to foot operation and vice versa and to reduce the effort expended in the operation of the brake pedal during manual operation, proposes that means of delivery for delivering a pressure medium, a cylinder-piston arrangement (4), actuatable by the pressure medium and acting directly on the brake pedal (1) and an actuating device acting between the handle (2) and the means of delivery be provided. <IMAGE>
