<p>Dispensing system (10) includes first and second lines (22, 30), positioned in flow communication with first and second containers (14, 18), respectively, for transferring liquid from the first and second containers (14, 18). In a first state, a valve (26, 34) prevents liquid from flowing through the first line (22) and allows liquid to flow through the second line (30), and vice versa when in a second state. A reservoir (40) communicating with the valve (26, 34) stores liquid received from the first and second lines (22, 30) by way of the valve (26, 34). Transfer line sensor arrangement (44, 48) monitors the first and second lines (22, 30) for the presence of liquid therein, and generates first and second signals when liquid becomes absent from the first and second lines (22, 30), respectively. The valve (26, 34) is switched to the first state in response to the first signal and to the second state in response to the second signal. A vacuum generator (110) removes gas from the reservoir (40) above the level of liquid therein.</p> |
