A method of producing oxide ceramic dental prostheses

To make accurately fitting oxide ceramic dental prosthetic parts (dental prostheses) in a single step, shrinking of the mixture comprising ceramic particles together with binders and/or make-up liquids during sintering has to be prevented. This is achieved by addition of particles of easily oxidisable metals, metal suboxides and/or metal hydrides which, during sintering, undergo a volume increase with uptake of oxygen and compensate for sintering shrinkage at an appropriate mixing ratio.
