The waterwheel is for the generation of electricity. It is of modular construction, to allow for adjustment to different height of fall and water volumes, and is capable of series production. It uses conventional and reliable components, and can be installed on site, by local contractors. The waterwheel has an integrated generator. The main drive shaft of the generator carries the waterwheel, and forms the wheel hub, and accommodates all forces. The waterwheel is constructed, so that its centre of gravity is located in the main bearing of the drive shaft, and there are no tilting moments.
