The present invention relates to an image-producing material which comprises a layer support on which are located, in the following sequence, (1) a layer of a photosensitive composition comprising (a) an o-quinone diazide compound and (b) an additive which reacts, on warming, with a photoreaction product of the o-quinone diazide compound to form an alkali-insoluble material, and (2) a layer of a water-soluble, high-molecular-weight compound or a layer of silicone rubber. The present invention also relates to an image-producing process which comprises irradiating the entire surface of the image-producing material with light rays which make the o-quinone diazide compound soluble in an alkaline developer, warming the image-producing material imagewise, and subsequently developing the image-producing material using an alkaline developer in order to remove the areas which have not been warmed.
