PURPOSE:To improve deterioration of dye image density and image quality due to chemical change or decomposition of the dye ontained caused by light, by providing a layer containing a specified polymer (dispersion) mordant in an image receiving element for color diffusion transfer process. CONSTITUTION:In an image receiving element a mordant layer is provided cotaining as solid, preferably in an amount of 20-80 weight %, a polymer (dispersion) mordant having units of the formula (in which A is a monomer unit prepared by copolymerizing copolymerizable monomers containing 2 or more ethylenically unsaturated groups; B is a monomer unit prepared by copolymerising copolymerizable ethylenically unsaturated monomers; R1 and R2 are H or 1 to about 6 C alkyl; n is 2 to 12; R3 to R5 are 1 to about 20 C alkyl or 7 to about 20 C aralkyl, or they may bond to each other to form a cyclic structure together with N; X<theta> is an anion; x is 0 to about 10 mole %; y is 0 to aobout 90 mole %; and z is about 10 to 99 mole %). |
