The invention relates to a housing, in particular for sensitive equipment in motor vehicles. The housing is produced in a similar manner to a vehicle body from sheet-metal parts connected to one another, to be precise in a manner such that a lid-side opening edge of the housing remains step-free even if manufacturing tolerances should occur. Accordingly, a gas- or liquid-tight arrangement of a seal between the lid and opening edge is possible.
