The carriage (20) is fastened on a prism (24) arranged downstream of the console (10). By means of the second cable-fixing facility (27), the optical axis (8) of the optical waveguide (LWL) is brought in alignment with the centre (1a) of the enveloping circle of a ferrule (1) which is guided in a guide groove (2) and can be mounted on the end of the optical waveguide by a piston (31). <IMAGE>
