Planetary gear unit and its use

The planetary gear unit has a planet carrier plate which is connected in torsionally rigid fashion to a first shaft and on which is arranged at least one bearing pin for the mounting of a rotatable planet wheel, said pin extending coaxially to the first shaft and orthogonally away from the planet carrier plate. This planet wheel meshes with a second shaft. At the point where it is attached to the planet carrier plate, the bearing pin is, according to the invention, provided with a bead-like thickened portion, the surface of which is preferably polished. In a special development of the invention, the bearing pin and the planet carrier plate are produced integrally from a plastics material. Advantages: - simplicity of production, high strength, automatic centring of the planet wheel, low risk of breakage.
