Two ultrasonic transducers, which operate alternately in transmitting/receiving mode, are fitted to one side of the measuring tube. On that side of the measuring tube lying opposite the ultrasonic transducers, there are fastened two reflectors whose geometry is designed such that the ultrasonic wave is led through the measuring tube in a spiral shape. As a result, the flow measurement becomes independent of the prevailing flow profile. <IMAGE>
