The luminaire has protective sleeves (20) which can be displaced on the tubular fluorescent lamp (18) and can be pushed over the head (13) of the lamp socket (11) in order to cover, in this process, the insertion slot (14) of the lamp socket (11). The protective sleeve (20) is pushed over the boundary region between the fluorescent lamp (18) and the lamp socket (11) and held fast in a clamping manner without any screw connection. Dust-proof protection which is cost-effective and easy to mount is produced in this way. <IMAGE>
