In a method for monitoring the metering capacity control of a metering device, in particular a differential metering balance, in which the weight signal from a weighing device is continuously measured and stored and is used as measured value for determining the metering capacity which is controlled at least from time to time by means of comparing desired and actual values, upon the occurrence of a disturbance which results in a deviation of the weight signal above a predeterminable tolerance range, measures being taken to exclude this disturbance and the deviation of the weight signal being determined by forming an estimated value for the next measured value from the weighing device and this estimated value being compared with the next actual measured value, the procedure which is followed is that in the case of exceeding the fixed tolerance range during a predetermined first time duration, instead of the actual value, lying outside the tolerance range, the associated estimated value is used for further signal processing, in particular for determining the actual metering capacity, and this estimated value is used as a basis for determining the subsequent weight signal estimated value. <IMAGE>
