Gas high tension switch. Gas high tension switch, with quenching chambers similar to the type of those having compression piston, which actuates in accordance with a mixed arc-quenching principle, either by simple compression or by thermal expansion self-blowout and in limiting cases of the ranges of actuation by one or other principle through the combination of both. In the low-medium shortcircuit current range the switch subject of the invention actuates in accordance with the principle of simple compression piston. In the medium-high shortcircuit current range it actuates in accordance with the principle of thermal expansion self-blowout on self-blocking during the disconnection operation, by means of an appropriate mechanism 4, 4.3, 16, the mobile contacts of its chambers forming a fixed volume, which is transitory in the same until the arc is quenched, suitable for the actuation of this principle. <IMAGE>
