It is composed of two machines capable of being mounted on the same or on different tractors. In this second case (not shown in the figure) they can work in a co-ordinated or independent manner. The machine which gives rise to the detachment of the fruit is a multidirection eccentric mass vibrator 1 which grips the trunk or branches of the tree by means of the clamp at its front end 4 and vibrates them. All the movements for placing the machine in the suitable position and for vibration are actuated by means of a hydraulic circuit whose oil tank is in the rear part of the tractor 10. The machine which gathers the fruit which have been knocked down consists of a set of canvas sheets mounted in the form of an "inverted umbrella" 6 which is extended under the crown of the trees. The fruit gathered in the bottom of the umbrella can be stored in a reservoir 9 to which they are sucked by a pipe 8 and a cyclone 7. Also, the equipment may not have a suction system, in which case the vibrator/umbrella assembly may be raised in order to discharge the fruits via a trapdoor which opens in the bottom of the umbrella. It applies to the gathering of olives, nuts and other fruit, for industrial purposes. <IMAGE>
