PURPOSE:To properly reset a time base counter(TBC) when a peripheral circuit block is tested, to design the module of a test program for the peripheral circuit block, and to easily add and delete a test program. CONSTITUTION:When the microcomputer is tested, a CPU block 30, a memory block 20, and the peripheral circuit block 40 are tested in order after the whole microcomputer is reset with a system reset signal SR. When peripheral circuits such as timers 41b and 42b of the peripheral circuit block 40 begin to be tested, the TBC 10 is reset with a counter reset signal CR and then the peripheral circuits such as the timers 41b and 42b operate on the basis of reference clocks phi1-phin supplied from the TBC 10 and are tested. |
